July 10, 1988. Silverstone. My first Formula One Grand Prix. The orchestral sound of turbocharged V6 engines fills the air with the unmistakable smell of tyres and petroleum.

It’s race day and it's light out!

The late, great Ayrton Senna wins after 65 thrilling laps in the rain and in front of a record British crowd and I'm hooked for life.

That experience triggered a lifelong passion for sports and, in particular, motorsport for me. It helped me to travel the world. It gave me a special bond with my father for 40 years and countless Sunday adfternoon WhatsApp chats with friends.

It gave me a 20-year international career in sports marketing - attending F1 races, football tournaments, and Olympic Games. It even gave me the privilege of meeting Ayrton's family, my sporting hero - the greatest honour and highlight of my career to date.

All this, from a single sporting memory that I preserved all this time.
